Okay the water is coming in, it's a good time to cast, because as that water comes in and kicks up all the bait, the fish will be right in their with them. And all that white water, all that bubbly water, that's where the fish are. You don't have to cast past them. Here we go, just got bit again.
That's what I like to do, when I am fishing at a beach like this, I make a couple of casts and if I don't get bit, I walk down 5 or 10 feet, make another cast and wind in. But that time the fish was right all over it. See what we have this time. Another perch I think. See, alright there it is. Little perch. One of my smaller ones for the day.
You can see his hook I am using is pretty large hook, it's an Eagle Claw, baitholder hook. But potentially I am fishing a little bit larger hook than I would up in the LA area, or Northern California area because the fish here are so aggressive.
Go ahead and let this guy go. There he goes. Well let's take a little break from the action here at Rosarito Beach Hotel and visit the Tackle box and get a good close-up look at the gear I am using for this type of fishing.
