I have one most difficult thing I ever learn how to do was ‘five balls’. And initially how I broke it down and learn. We didn’t need those two balls anyway.
Alright, couple of things about five balls, you need to increase the speed in your hands so what you will do a lot of are those three balls flashes and that’s when you throw the three balls in the air. Just make sure that when you throw the three ball flashes, you’re keeping the triangle up top, but they’re still going underneath each other, not around. So you do that a lot. Just get really used to the move of the hands.
What are the other tricks I did in preparing to do the five balls is where three balls, I would throw the hand with the one ball first, and I have to throw two in the other hand quickly and I would just do this back and forth. And the key is really making sure that each of my throws was off to the shoulder, the point above the opposite shoulder. Especially the throws with my weak hand, that would be my left hand, you really got to make it sure that you hit those points and get the balls high because you want to give yourself much time to throw the balls as possible.
The lower the balls that you throw, the faster you have to throw. So you want to keep the cycle throws high but not too high because the higher you throw, the more out of control they get.
And as you juggle the three balls, what I do is I focused solely on there’s a triangle that forms at the top. And that what all I am looking at is making sure that I have that triangle. And if I had that triangle genuinely, I can do the catching but I have to make sure I have the triangle up top.
Alright, I’m just looking at the very top making sure I have a triangle. A lot of time is that the triangle is kind of funky looking. It’s because maybe my left throw, my weak hand is not throwing it high enough. So you really need to focus on the triangle when you’re juggling five and it takes a lot of practice—a lot of practice.
