This is going to be my tips on making a screen cast preferably on Linux. When you’re making a screen cast, make sure you’re doing—that yourself, you know would want to watch. Not anyone else but what you want to watch your own, you know. And if people say you know, you curse a lot. This is your— right? You want to watch this. If they want to change you, that’s their business but if you’re not willing to change, then don’t, curse all you want, you know. That’s just my take on that.
For a screen cast, get a mic. It doesn’t have to be a great mic but at least a decent one. I would say get some noise cancelling kind of mic, like this one I have right here. So Creative Fatality one, since 50 bucks but I had it for like 20 bucks, 20 bones that’s about it. Just wait from the holiday season or some rebate and then you get it for cheap you know. That’s just my take on the mic thing, and get a mic—the one with the mic jack, not the USB because I don’t know why these idiots wants the USB anyways because it is not going to make anymore improvements than it is. Well maybe a little bit clearer but you’re wasting—USB jack this for that? It’s stupid right?
So now that you have the mic, you want to get Compass Fusion because they have these two features in it that I like. It’s in the accessibility right here, this tab and then you see it says enhance zoom desktop here, alright? This enhance zoom desktop is actually what I’m doing here right now, see? You’re zooming in and zooming out.
And the next thing is the show mouse here. This is the purple thing right here, that the fire is going around my cursor, alright. And you can change the color inside to of the particles. Here you see the particle options, and then you want to change the colors, you can change them if you want. And that’s just my take on that, the Compass advance feature. I’m not going to show you how to get Compass because there’s a lot of—on YouTube that shows you how to do that already. You know I don’t want to contribute anymore spam.
And when you’re doing tutorials, I see a lot of people have like custom themes like, you know like appear this whole thing will be black, the whole—will be black—that’s great and all for your purpose but when you’re doing a screen test, make sure people can see it. Because I saw like some people have like a dark theme and I’m like, where the—are they going. And you know, and then we’re going to have the down fire theme, so I’m like okay, the fire is for like people that can’t see what I’m doing and then, you know they can follow the fire at least, you know. That’s just my thing on that and you do not to do the text—like this, you know. Like this, this we can’t do this anymore. You know, get a mic, unless you’re doing for people, the deaf people, you know then I understand. But you got to state down you video saying this is for deaf—only, you know. That’s it, that’s all you go to do. But yeah, don’t do that anymore, we don’t want to see that.
And make sure you have all the folders that you want to show up in like, all your folders. You know anything you want to show, and let me see what else. Okay make sure you’re not doing videos that has been done a thousand times like, if you search YouTube for Compass Fusion. You see this useless videos of people testing their—the cube out, or you know, spinning their cube. They’re not actually showing you anything, just how it looks and you see that a thousand times already anyways. This is useless; it’s the same with the AMV, the animate music video. It’s that same song, the Metallica and then they’re not actually doing anything better with that. It’s just the same but spammed a thousand times, and it’s all—. Unless you do something, you know that’s better than the original or is better than all the—that you see, don’t do it. It’s just spamming and I don’t like that. Would you want to see that? Probably not, so just stop doing that.
And for recording, use the GTK Record My Desktop thing, some people have good luck, some people don’t. I have good luck with this program so this is what I’m using, you know, GTK Record My Desktop and its pretty easy. And after that, just use VLC to transcode it to MP4 and upload to YouTube but that’s just my thing. And if you like to edit, and be more professional you could but I don’t do that because I really have time, I just, you know but on my—it’s like talking, some people that might need, you know to wind some—down, go ahead and do that if you need to you know. For me though, I just wing it. You know I just talk and if I mess something up, so be it you know. Who gives a—so yeah that’s just some of my tips on doing screen casts.
