How to make Chocolate Espresso Truffle Pie -Vegan

Julie Hasson: I’m Julie Hasson. Welcome to everydaydish. One of the fun things about my job is that I got to create different recipes for different clients. This recipe was one that I did for a demo, using chocolate and tofu. Let me just tell you I’m still getting emails from people requesting this recipe so let me show with you my recipe for a Chocolate Espresso Pie to began with we need a prepared Chocolate crumb crust now this is one from wholly wholesome and I love it because not only just the taste great but its healthy for you. It has no hydrogenated vaxin and so you want to have your crust.

Then you can want so can tofu and dark chocolates. I’ve got a dark organic chocolate but it doesn’t have to be organic and I have melted the chocolate on 30 second intervals in the microwave just until its barely melted and then stir at the rest of the way and you look at the -- let mixture and that’s what you want okay what we are going to do is in the blender, we are going to add our -- tofu and this is a non-refrigerator client there we go and we need some espresso or strong brewed coffee that in there with the tofu and we are going to blended until its smooth.

What you want to make sure is its all -- mode you don’t want any pieces of the tofu in there because I would be that give away, okay then we are going to add on melted chocolate and I prepare that chocolate for this there we go look at there for your last drop its pie really good and no one ever knows that tofu in there plus then I feel good about because kids can have practice and fell I getting some proteins, okay look at tofu now we can blend this up again and we can little bit of vanilla, and in to smooth.

Now we are going to add powdered sugar, which is going to add that little bit of sweetness to it and we can blended again until –its nice and smooth we’ve got our crust already I mean this recipe it amazes me that something so rich and so decoding could be so easy to make and you just put right into your –like serve and you want smooth the top and what you will notice is if you eat the pie within a couple of hours it won’t be more putting like and if your refrigerator over and I until the next day it will feel almost most like it will have a own other texture to it so its very cool and then for the top you can leave it as this or you can great some chocolate curls and saving on top which is what I’m do okay just the – there and you can add as many -- you want too and what you do as your refrigerator for couple hours before your serving thanks so much for joining me.
