Female: There is a lot available of the Yoga Mats out there, just begging to be turn into pair of flip flops. I got one from the yoga studio down the street and since I have no idea whose been using it, it is always a good idea to scrub it down.
Now, you want to identify the two sides. Textured and smooth. With the smooth side up trace around the flip flop or snicker that to your size and cut it out. Slip it over and trace around the cut out so you have right and left foot. Trace and cut out for more, for both the right and left and you have the total of five cut outs for each foot.
Pile them up according to foot and flip them over so the textured side faces up. Take one pile and use a hot glue gun to glue for of the layers together. Glue a little bit press, glue a little bit press. This way the glue would not dry before you have a chance to put the layer on all the way.
Next take, I fit layer put it on the floor, position your foot on top and make a mark and between your big toe and second toe. Take other razor and slice the marker been. Now, cut a long strip from the left over mat, that is about three to four-seven inch wide. Put one end of the strip to the holes of the smooth size faces out. Bring it around and under, out the other and place the other end of the strip through the holes smooth side facing out.
Try it on and pull the strips tighter or lessen it up so, it fits you right. Turn both sides of the strips and glue tabs down. Then glue down the middle part and it time to glue that top layer on. Do it the same way you did the layers but I have little bit more pressure to the middle and toe part for a bit longer.
Flip your flop over and add some threads to the bottom. Make your second flop the same way and you got your self a pair of shoes which is some pretty good karma.
