Julie Hasson: Hi I’m Julie Hasson. Welcome to everydaydish you know it’s the middle of day and I’m starving for something to eat and I really wanted something that I can spread on sandwich or on some crackers run into the fridge and what I found was that I have mushrooms and onions and then I realize that I can make Vegan mock chopped liver its so delicious you caramelize mushrooms and onions together and once for all nice and sweet and caramelize and puree them in food processor with some toasted walnuts and little salt and white pepper so look at the simple and it’s a great afternoon snack so come one you are going to get cooking with me. Right here I have a large non-stick pan that I have preheated we can put little bit of olive oil on that or in it I should say, okay no I tend to go little easy on the olive oil just because you know I’m always watching my figure and - but you could use this much as little as you want, okay scroll that around now we are going to add our onions and listen to the sizzle, right then we go
Okay so at this point you can do one or two things you can kind toast your onions around which is what I would like to do just get on little coat in the oil and then what you do as add your mushrooms in and you can caramelize them together now I need a spatula keep in its -- here we go a nice big, we hopefully we have a little one, one this a little bit smaller, okay so we are going to kind a mix it around a little bit and we’re just going to let it slow cook and caramelize over medium heat, keep in high if starts burn we can want to turn it down and we just going to look that cook for a little bit probably about 10 minutes, one second can you see this, this is almost there so nice and brown caramelized everything as all the natural sugars are starting to caramelized that’s what you want so another couple of minutes so yes its okay for to dark brown and then its ready puree into our -- okay its been 15 minutes this is perfect, this is exactly the way we wanted to be its caramelized now what we are going to do is, we’re are going to puree the walnuts because we have to do that first they get chopped up in the so we are going to add those in falls others finally chopped perfect you don’t want to make walnut better
Okay, now what we can do, as we can add carefully add because its very, very hot our onion and mushroom mixture into the food processor you can let this for few minutes, you don’t have to – but I’m really hungry now I want that snacks so here we go got it in well we also going to put a little bit of white pepper, I just like the flavored little bit of salt a dash of a gravy and just add some little bit of sweet as I like because it you don’t have to worry about sugar not dissolving in big crunchy and so little bit gravy and this splash more celery . You could also use brandy or you don’t have to add at all but can not want to do is puree add, you want to strait on the sides once we go this up so good, yeah look at steaming high can we believe us, okay now we are going to add into our bowl because its looks so good I’m in have the past sandwich, its good to hand of my glasses more steaming okay now we have our lovely mock chopped liver and I don’t know we have to come up with a really creative name for rather than mock chopped liver but for now that’s in my hand we have that have some toasted bread some chopped parsley to put on to me so good it have little bit. Thanks so much for joining me.
