Hi Stampers!
Today I am going to show you how I made this Domino Magnet, this magnet but I am going to show you how I make a pen too so you can make a domino pen but I am going to show you how I did that today.
So first, you are going to go to your – I bought this I think at Target or Mires and they are just a box of dominoes. And actually, you can use the containers after using the dominoes so let us get started.
So first I got my domino, you are going to first, take some rubbing alcohol, you are going to use a cotton ball, and you are just going to swipe this alcohol across your domino. Because there is a finish on that and it just helps strip that a little bit so your stuff will stick better your ink and your soignée pen that we are going to use. So go ahead and wipe that off with your rubbing alcohol. I am just blowing at it so it dries. I am not doing anything fancy, this is of course the image, I am just going to basically show you how I do it. I am using the lovely lilac with my Dauber and I am going to give my domino a background color. So I am just going to punch this color right on top of my domino, you can apply it darker, but we are going to take the hit gun and we are going to heat that first before we apply another layer, so excuse the noise.
Okay, it is really quick and then I am going to go ahead and apply another layer. You can do it however dark you want. I am just going to do the two layers for right now and then I am going to heat set that again. Okay then I want to use my permanent Stazon black with the butterfly from Infinite Goodness from a holster set and I want to stamp this image right on top of that purple and there is no way I can probably get that whole image on there but at least I will try. Okay so you get the idea. Okay so then we are going to heat set that.
Then I want to take my blender pen, this is double ended and you can clean get your clean brush on the end and you just wipe it on your scratch paper until it runs clear. So I am going to do that actually quite often during this process but I am going to remove this ink in the middle of here and you want to clean that off so you do not transfer it over so you just want to take it of. So just, remove that ink in the center of your image or wherever you want to have the white show through because you want to color them if you want. Okay once it is removed, then I can take another marker, another color. I am using pixie pink and then you can just color over that. Okay that is not fancy that I am showing you. I am just showing you the process on how to do this but you can make it really elaborate. Okay then I wants to heat set that again. I got my ziggy pen and this has got gold on one end and silver on the other. I want to use the silver end. One trick you want to use with this is you want to shake it quite a bit because it is just like a pink can. You want to mix that pink up really good and then you want to start it and just tap it on the top of your scratch paper and then I am going to follow this edge of my domino around to give it a more finish look.
Now I am just balancing the tip of my ziggy pen on top of the edge of the domino. And of course, I am as straight as I would like to be. Do the pressures on and then you can also color the sides if you want to really finish if off. I will just do this one side to show you. So you get it finished off at one side. You can have a magnet like I did on this one, just use maybe some crystal effects, put on the back and then stick your magnet on there and let it dry for a couple of hours. And then I also had some sticky strip around the sides of this and then I added some micro beads. But for my pen, you can buy these pens at any local craft store. I am just going to use some sticky strip, just a small piece and I am going to attach this to the back of my pen, press it down really good and take the backing off and then you are going to adhere this to the back of your domino. You can use crystal effects too but for the sake of showing you, I am just using sticky strip.
Okay so that is it, is it not that cute? And here is the finished one. This one is a magnet and this one is a pin. All right, thanks for stopping by we will see you tomorrow. Bye!
