Hello stampers! Today I am going to show you how I made this lantern. It is really cute!
I actually used the pina colada paper out of this simply scrapping kit called pina colada. So I am going to use the bella rose designer paper. What you are going to need is the bella rose designer paper and I cut it at 6 x 9 and then you are going to have like a 3” piece leftover and then cut of ¾” from that. So this is what you are going to use for your lantern. 6 x 9, and a ¾” x 6” for the handle.
So first you are going to score each side, the long ends, I guess this would be considered on the 6” side to score ½” and then ½” on this side. Then you are going to use your snail or you could use sticky strip but for this video, I am just going to use snail. It works fine. You are going to fold over that ½” score line so it should look like that. Then you are going to score every ¾” so you are going to start at ¾” right here. I just scored it. You are actually going to cut it but I find the pencil lines or if you draw a pen or something, it is not going to show up if you use the bone folder scoring line. So I scored right between these two lines here. You are going to score it ¾”, ½”, 2/3”, 3”, 3 ¾”, 4 ½”, 5/4”, 6”, 6 ¾”, 7 ½” and then 8 ¼”. So once you scored all those, then you are just going to fold it in half. I am actually going to fold it this way because I can see the score lines better because you are going to cut those. Fold it a half, get your scissors and cut up to that half-inch score flip over there. Just go ahead and cut all those score lines right up to that fold over.
So once you get all that done, then that is going to make your little lantern here. So now we are going to put some sticky strip. Apply your sticky strip on one end, peel that off, then you are going to fold it. I am going to fold this last over a little bit so I can see where that folder over. Because I want those to be lined up on the end there, I got ¾” line there, I want that to be just more lined up. So there you go. There is your little lantern. And then you want to push it down to get kind of sitting right for you. You are going to take your ¾” x 6” and I am going to adhere this with some brads. So I am just going to hold it in place, ½” here, I am going to take my 1/16” handheld punch and I just going to punch a tiny little hole through all those layers and I am just going to put a little vintage brad in there. I am just going to pull it over to this side and do the same thing. Put the adhesive on there which is to hold it until you can punch it. There we go.
All right, thanks for stopping by and we will see you later, bye!
