Hi stampers! Today I thought I would show how I made this pumpkin out of cardstock. It is really cute. It is actually using the designer paper, the Autumn Vine. So let us get started. I cut 11 strips of Autumn Vine and the measurement is 5 ½” x 11” and you are going to cut 11 strips at 1”.
So this is what I look like, all 11, and use two sided, so you can pick whatever side you want. But after you get that cut, then you are going to take your crop-a-dile. You want to get all those pieces lined up good.
[Demo]
Okay. Then you are going to take your crop-a-dile and you are going to use your 1/8 end of your punch on your crop-a-dile and you are going to punch both ends and it punches through all the layers really nice, two both ends.
[Demo]
Okay. So this is what it should look like. Then I have about 9” of the Mellow Moss Grow Grain ribbon. I am just going to trim the ends here to make a point on both ends.
[Demo]
Okay. Then I am going to take a silver brad. I am just going to tuck or push that through the Grow Grain ribbon.
[Demo]
And the reason I am doing this is because if you tie the knot, your Pumpkin would not sit flat like that. It is flat because there is a brad in there. So instead of tying a knot, I am adding a brad. So I am going to feed my Grow Grain ribbon. Now, this is the time that you want to decide on what design you want to show outside. Okay. So feed your Grow Grain ribbon through the side that you want shown outside. This is not going through.
[Demo]
There we go. Okay, so just pull that through and then when you get to the brad, just kind of feed that through the hole as you are pulling the Grow Grain through like that.
[Demo]
And then close up your brad and you can trim that ribbon down to on the end.
[Demo]
Okay. And on the other end, let me trim this again.
[Demo]
On the other end, you are going to feed it from the inside of your strips to the outside.
[Demo]
Okay. So make sure your ribbon is straight and then you are just going to pull it to the shape of the Pumpkin that you want. Always leave it a little bit bigger because I am going to tighten it up as I finish my Pumpkin. So I am just going to tie a little knot. Not too close to the designer paper. I am going to retie it in a little bit.
[Demo]
This just seals it up so you can fan it out. So fan out your designer paper.
[Demo]
Okay. So this is time that you are going to shape your Pumpkin however squatty you want it.
[Demo]
I guess that looks pretty cute. Okay, so now that is the time when you are going to finish off your knot.
[Demo]
Then you are going to make your little stem there too. So this is when you want to pull kind of tight close to the designer paper and then that gives your Pumpkin shape, and then you are just going to trim a little bit off to make the stem of your pumpkin. So it is looks like that. Okay. After you cut your designer paper, the 5 5/2” x 11”, you are going to have another inch left over and I am just going to use that for this little swirl things, like vines. And I how I did that was that I just took the 1” that I had left over and I just cut little tiny 1/8 strips, probably even smaller than that and I just going to wrap that around a pencil and you want to wrap it tightly. As you are wrapping it, put pressure on it so it kind of bends the designer paper.
[Demo]
I will do this last one here.
[Demo]
I will do this one again.
[Demo]
It is really easy, just roll the designer paper on your pencil. Okay, so you get these little swirly vine things that we are going to attach the pumpkin and I just cut three of them. So I am just going to cut the remainder part off. I want to put it dimensional on the end because I did not cut it all the way through the designer paper. So I am just going to put dimensional right there and then trim that off.
[Demo]
Peel that off and then I am going to stick this close to the vine or to the stem of my pumpkin. And then for the leaves, I have seen Patty Benneth. Hi Betty! She did these really cute leave with the crimper and I am using the Mellow Moss cardstock. And what you are going to do is you are just going to fold your cardstock in half, and then remember how we use to make those paper hearts; you are just going to cut on the score line like a shape of a leaf.
[Demo]
And then once you get your shapes cut out, then you are going to feed them through the crimper.
[Demo]
And then open up here leaf. That is going to be really cute. So there is a leaf. Is it not that cute? Patty is so smart. Thank you Patty! All right, so there is you two leaves and I am just going to attach those with the dimensionals also to my pumpkin.
[Demo]
I want to put these over top of those vines so it kind of camouflages it.
[Demo]
So it looks like that. Is it not cute? All right, so here is the other one. All right, thanks for stopping by. I want to see you later. Bye!
