Spring Card #2 with Dawn
DawnsStampingThoughts
Hi Stampers! Today, I want to show you this spring card. The difference with this one is that it will fit in a regular sized envelop. So, let us get started. I am using the yoyo yellow and the black card stack, of course, because I am using the buzz, just buzzing stamp set and you are going to use a piece of card stack and you are going to score at 2 1/8”and 4 ¼” and then, you are going to turn your card stack lengthwise and you are going to mark that at 2 1/8” at the very top of your card. You can use a pencil on this, using the bone folder. Okay, then you are going to take this bottom part, where you mark the top end, 2 1/8” and you are going to fold that over to the score line.
[Demo]
So, it should look like that. And then, you are going to fold it the other way, same thing up to that score line. Okay, so that I am just going to mark a little pencil here, because the yoyo yellow is kind of hard to see when I am cutting. So then, you are going to cut at an angle from the 2 1/8 down to that top of the x, see the x that you made in the center of your card. You are going to cut an angle from there to there and that is why I need to get pencil line, so I could see it on my cutter. You are just going to line those up and then, cut at an angle and do both sides.
[Demo]
Okay, so this is your card and then, to make the spring card you are going to push in the centers. And, that is going to make your spring card. I will use my bone folder.
Okay, so then after you get your centers folded end, then you are going to fold this part back. So, it is going to sit up like this, okay. All right, then I have all my layers for my card. I have two squares, using the black and let us cut at 1 ¾” x 1 ¾” and then use two of those. And, the four the triangle, for the top of my card is cut at 2 ¾” x 2 ¾”. So, for the 1 ¾” squares, you are going to cut out an angle also. Now, you cannot see too well on the cutter, but what you are going to do is you are going to line this point up with this point and then, just cut them in halves. So, you are going to have 4 pieces, when you are done, because you want to cut on both.
[Demo]
And now, we are going to put our card together, the black. Let me go ahead and put adhesive in all these four pieces first. Okay, so then the first one you are going to put (let me open the card up, it is probably better see it that way) you put your first triangle in this triangle slot here and then also, on the other side. You can close your cut up, if you want to get it perfect realigned. And, what you are going to go is you are going to put it right here, on this side, just line that up.
[Demo]
Okay, so then you have got your spring card like that and then, we are going to go ahead and adhere our black, 2 ¾” the front of the card and make this flat. And then, I went ahead and stamp the images already on this whisper white. Now, the whisper white is cut at 2 ½” x 2 ½”. Okay, so I am going to layer this piece, the 2 ½” x 2 ½” on to my card. Now, use the yoyo yellow and going gray with the black and then I just added some dazzling diamonds to the wings and to the honey. Okay and then I had this little saying here, it said, “Have a honey of the day.” I am going to take the dimensionals; I am going to put them on the card first. I do this, then the greeting can be lined up perfectly, when I close the card. So, I am just going to close it and then just line this greeting up on top of that. So, it looks like that, so then I am going to adhere this card basically shut, so it sits up really cute. I am just going to apply some adhesive on there and then; I am just going to seal that down. And, there is the card!
Is not that cute? Let me show you this way and here is the other way. Okay, thanks for stopping by, see you later, bye.
