Spring Card #1 with Dawn
DawnsStamp’ingThoughts
Hi stampers! Today, we are going to make the Spring Card, it is very cute, but one thing it is a very large card, so you are going to use the score whisper white envelop, the medium size and the card would fit in this envelop perfectly. The envelop is measured 5 ½” x 5 ½”. So, you will need that for the size card, I have another video showing you how to make it on a smaller size, but we are going to make this one today. All right, so let us get started. I am using the regal rose cardstock, along with the sweet always designer paper and the measurements for your base of your Spring Card is 5 x 10. And, you are going to score it, let us get that going here. Okay, so you are going to score your cardstock at 2 ½”.
[Demo]
And, 5” and then you are going to make a mark at 7 ½” and I am just using my bone folder, you can use a pencil (let me use a pencil). You are going to make a tiny mark at the 7 ½” mark and then, you are going to turn your cardstock lengthwise and you are going to make a mark at the very top at 2 ½”. All right, so then you are going to fold all your score lines.
[Demo]
So, now you are going to take your cardstock, now this is the side where I scored the 2 ½ and the 5. You are going to take the opposite end, which is going to be considered the top of your card and you are going to fold that down to the 2 ½” score line. I will get those lined up here.
[Demo]
It should look like that, then you are going to open your card and you are going to fold it the other way, same thing, line it up with a 2 ½ and score line. There should be like an X in the center of your card. In the top of the X, it should be where that 7 ½” mark that we made. So, now you are going to cut on your cutter here, and it take your points that you measured as 7 ½” your marks. And, you are going to cut it in angle from the 7 ½”upto that 2 ½” mark to the top of your card. And, this is where the pencil helps out, so you can see it on the cutter, where you are going to cut.
[Demo]
And do both sides, so then you should end up with your card, with the point here at the top. So, you are going to fold your X, I guess you could say, you are going to fold the inside part together and then, this is going to make your Spring Card (let me score this point down here). After you get that part done, you are just going to fold that piece of cardstock back. So, then when your card sits up, it will look like that.
Now, to decorate the front of your Spring Card, you are going to use--well, I am using the Sweet Always designer paper and you are going to cut two square, cut it 2 ¼” x 2 ¼” cut two of those. Chocolate chip, just cut it 3 ¾” x 3 ¾”. We go rose, cut it 3 x 3, and then the whisper white is cut at 2 ¾” x 2 ¾”. And then, I use the crazy the cupcakes, for this cup cake in the front of my card, and then I just used the black marker to make some squiggly lines and doodle dots.
All right, so now with your squares, you are going to cut at an angle from point to point on your cutter and you are going to do both pieces, so let us do that.
[Demo]
And, I am just going to apply some adhesive to all four pieces, before we go any further here, so let me do that. So, then you are going to take the front of your card and open it up and then, you are going to apply your triangles in these spots, on your card.
[Demo]
And then, you can also close it up if you want to do the bottom part. You can close it up and then, you can line it up that way also, if you want to do it that way, so it looks like that.
[Demo]
And, there is the front of your card, and then for the other layers, we are just going to layer this on your front of your card.
[Demo]
Okay, there is your card. Now, I like to put adhesive right here to seal it up, so it will sit up straight, so you just put some adhesive in that area and just seal it down.
[Demo]
And, then for my sample card, I want to had in stamped the “hope your day is the sweetest ever.” And then, you can pop that up with the dimensional, put that right there, but I am going to add some glitter to it real quick. I am just going to outline the cupcake mainly. And, there you go! Very cute card. Thanks for stopping by, we will see you later, bye!
