Hi! I want to teach you how to make a Japanese box.
We take the paper and we fold corner to corner so you get a triangle. Now we open that and then if you see you have a line here, so I fold from when the line starts to the line ending. Okay, now I fold every corner to the center. I do it one, I do it two; it's really important to do it accurate, if you don't do it accurate it's not coming great. We fold the four corners and I fold the same in the other paper as well. Okay, now I open the four triangles and now I fold the triangle, the edge of the triangle and I turn it and every time I fold another corner and now when I did it I close, one trapezium, two trapezium, three and four trapezium like a picture frame.
Now I do the same in the other piece until now. Now we have two pieces, one going to be the lid and one going to be the box, okay. So, I turn the paper to the other side, one of them, only one the box which I wanted to be the box. I take it and I fold it to the middle line, okay and I fold another edge so I got kind of a rectangle. So if this is the lid what I am going to do I don't fold to the middle, I fold a bit far away from line, from the middle. You see have two trapeziums, you see the trapezium. So I lift it up and lift it up, the other trapezium, okay. I do the same in other paper, so what I am going to do, I take one triangle and I fold it, another triangle, third one and the fourth one.
So what I am going to do now, I take one trapezium and I fold it above the two triangles. I turn it to the other side again, so I get a hexagon. Okay, now I do the same the other side, look at them they are the same almost. Here we have a gap and here not, so the gap would be of course the lid. We turn that to one side, I take one triangle and I fold it in, I crease it and open it. I do the same in the other side, it help me to open the box later. Put my finger inside the two trapezium then I lift it up, when I lift it I just crease the edge so its -- stand nicely. So what I need to do put the lid on the box, so I have a box here. This is a simple message box but you probably can find a really complicate beautiful message box because its part of the tradition in Japan, the box and the lid.
