How is it going out there today, I am going to teach you how to make a death note. Assuming you may or may not know, but death not is an awesome, awesome, awesome manga that's currently being published by -- in America it's presently being published by Biz and I started reading it at least about a year ago I think. There is a preview for it shown in jump and it was awesome, so I picked it up right away. I have been reading it ever since and there are a couple of movies coming out in Japan about it right now and there is an anime may be in production. It's just a terrific, terrific anime manga, well I have not seen anime, but the manga is fricking stellar.
In my opinion it's on power with Lost. Death note is about a death note. It is a note book and if you find yourself in possession of one, you can write whosever name you want inside of it and they will die.
Today I am going to try and make one. This is in -- so, I can kill people or I can make a list of people I want to die and it is some kind of like high school hit list type bullshit. This is just for my own entertainment and so I can say, look I have a death note, aren't I cool? I'm going to take you through the steps. I take it you have never made one before. This is all experimentation at this point, but if you feel like making one, you can -- and you like how mine turns out in the end, you can make your own by following the steps outlined in this here video.
Alright, but first I just want to make a disclaimer, I guess, just saving my ass. If you do decide to make one and you are in high school or something, don't take it to school and don't write kids names in it. Just don't be stupid, because I think on Wikipedia they talk about the Xuyang (ph) incident or something like that. Kids were bringing -- making death notes and bringing them to school and they had to outlaw the manga and I do not know. It's just not a smart idea when you're talking about death and high school kids and something like that. So if you make one of these be responsible just show it off to your friends when they come over and say, look, I have got a cool death note, I'm the fricking bomb.
Alright, for starters what you are going to need is first off a note book. I got this -- I was at Kmart, it cost me about a dollar. It is the regular composition book. I am sure there are better ones out there. I am not really happy with the rounded edge, but this is the best I could do today so this is what I am using as the base.
Next, I got just some cheap masking tape. This is as what we'll be using to put the letters on. Next, I got white spray paint and obviously some black spray paint. Altogether, this costs -- and I have got a couple of more notebooks just in case I f**k the first one up. Altogether it has cost me 15 bucks.
DEATH NOTE
Paint upper third of notebook: white
Step 1:
But dry for about an hour...
Prepare lettering
Step 2:
Draw the lettering out in one-line pieces
After the white has dried
Apply lettering
Step 3:
Carefully cut the letter pieces out and apply them
Paint the whole front black
Step 4:
But that dry another hour
Carefully remove the lettering
Step 5:
Paint the back and inside covers black
Finishing up:
There you go your very own death note. Enjoy. Again, if you make one, don't take it to school and fill it with names of students, etc... just be cool and enjoy the manga.
