To prove this is a hoax, check out this REAL video of a solar concentrator starting fire. It shows that the concentrator has to be pointed at the sun to start a fire. The coke can, if polished, works exactly the same way. It must be pointed at the sun, not the ground.

Another HOAX. Any moron knows the reflector HAS to be pointed AT the sun to get your focal point, not at the ground. When you see someone pointing the can at the ground, you immediately know it's a hoax. And it's IMPOSSIBLE to polish the can in 10 minutes (or as this hoaxer spells it "minuites" ). You could polish it for 4 hrs and still not get a reflective surface. But there are plenty of suckers out there that fall for this garbage.

Why did you cheat? It isn't even that difficult to do. I have made a video on YouTube which will show you EXACTLY how to do this. The parabolic shape at the bottom of the tin CAN be polished into a good enough mirror, but it took me longer than 10 minutes. The mirror CAN be used to focus sunlight sufficiently, but you need to point it exactly at the sun. You COULD (possibly) use paper as tinder, but it is not likely to work because a) It's white so it reflects light b) You need to use a very small piece to prevent blocking the sunlight from reaching your mirror c) It ignites at a much higher temperature than char-cloth. Feel free to see how it's done properly, be searching on YouTube: 101 ways to make fire
