I am more likely to have a lighter in my pocket than a piece of steel wool!!

Well this is absolutely helpless. Not absolutely but come on! If you are stranded in the jungle and have no matches or lighter, you are also going to be without steel wool and probably without batteries. Geez guys.

i think everyone commenting has figured out that it will be a lot easier to carry a lighter or match around than a bunch of aliminum wool and a battery. im not impressed, and im only 14! when you come up with an idea for lighting a fire in the wilderness without man made resources then will i be impressed!

Will it work with wet steel wool? Does anything bad happen if the battery is wet too?
