Hi Stampers! Today, I want to show you how to do a Dahlia flower. I have so many requests to do a video on that and this video will not be on any DVD. All right, so let us get started. First you are going to take a piece of designer paper I am using the Bella rose and you want to cut this strip at 1 ½” x 12 and you can get eight punches with the 1 ¼” corner circle punch, so let us go ahead and do that. We are going to punch eight of them out okay just perfect. Okay, this one I went ahead and did already, but okay so this is how you do the flower, I hope I can pick this up in the video for you to see how you do it. Okay so whatever you want your petal to be like on the top like mine is the brown with the polka dot, she want that part facing down. So what you are going to do is you are going to fold your designer paper circle the one on one corner circle and half and then open that up and then fold that again and half. So you should have these 4 little quarters on your circle.
All right, so now I am going to use the chocolate chip facing down because want the petal to be upwards. Okay so now, this is how you are going to fold it. You are going to take one of your corners of your quarter piece and your circle punch and you are going to fold that piece up, so it fits right on that corner. So that quarter piece right there you should have a little fold and like that and then do the other side the same way. So it should look like that. Okay, now you are going to flip it over and then you going to use that center score line where you have folded it in half and you going to use that as your guide, you are going to fold that section up to that center line and the do the other side to match it to come upright into the center part. So that is what your petal looks like, and then I always take my bone folder and just press down on it to make sure those fold lines are good. Okay then you going to go ahead and also punch out a piece of regular card stock with the one on one quarter circle punch and you also going to fold it in half and the fold this in half. Okay so you should have four quarters again on your circle. This is going to be your base to edge your petals for your flower.
Okay let us go ahead and make another petal and then fold it in half once you do it you will see it so easy, I think the one that is time consuming is that you have to make 8 of them because you have to have 8 petals to form the flower. Okay, so now is your 4 quarters of your circle, and I am putting the chocolate chip face down we going to take one of the corners and I will use my finger nails to guider here, so when I fold it I am just using that center piece at that corner for my guide of my little folder over there. That is the first step and you are going to flip it over and you are going to fold it up to the center part. Okay so there is your petal. You going to do that eight times to all these circles so once you have your petals, now to assemble your flower I am going to go ahead and put adhesive on the whole piece of cardstock, because it is going to be quicker, so instead of doing each petal at a time.
Okay so now, when you are putting your flower together think of north, south, east and west you want to start assembling your flower as in north, south, east and west. So there is north and you are going to put that right up to each other. There is south, there is east. I went ahead and did some ahead of time, so that is why it is going together quickly and there is west. Okay so your flowers should look like that, and then you just take the remaining four flower petals and put it in between each of the petals that are already on there. And then let us press down with sort of adheres to the center of that circle. Good.
Okay, that is it! That is your flower, is it not beautiful? Then, I went ahead and did this bag; this is what we did for club this month. And I am just going to go ahead and put the dimensional at the back of that. Actually, I am going to put two of them; actually I am going to put three of them. I grab three so let us just do three, then you are just going to adhere that, then you could also put a rhinestone brad or a button or something on the center, but that is how you do it. All right stampers thanks for stopping by. We will see you later. Bye.
