Alright, here's a trick I am going to show you to help you add some length to your papers for school. It's helpful for the college kids and the school kids. I know, everyone out there has tried to add length to their paper by making larger margins or bigger fonts, but teachers usually catch on to that kind of stuff. So what I found that really works is if you change your size of periods, so you can see right here is paper it is about four and a half pages say,you need to write about five pages, what you are going to want to do is go up to Edit and Find, Control+F is the short key and go to the Replace tab. Now when you are here, enter a period in both fields. Now go to more, highlight the second period. Now go to Format, Font. Select the size of 14 and hit OK and make sure the one at the top is 12 and the one below is 14.
Alright, so now after that, you are going to want to go ahead and click Replace All and you are going to notice right here that it has made 82 replacements. That's all the periods in your paper. You can see it has made this four and a half page paper into a full five pages. It does some pretty good results, but it gets a lot better, the longer the paper, the more periods there are and the more space is added. I am going to go ahead and show you what happens with a nine page paper.
So I open up this new paper and this is a nine pager and it's a full nine pages and I am going to same exact thing, go up to Edit, Find and I am going to put in the periods and I am going to replace them. This one has close to 200 periods and that's a significant amount and you'll notice that it has brought this nine page paper to a full ten and that actually goes on to the 11th page a little bit. So this can significantly add a lot of space to your paper and another one of my friends who has done this before had a 16 page paper that extended to 19 pages after he did it. So it's pretty good technique.
Alright, now just to give you some comparison, I am going to show you what a size 12 period and size 14 period look like side by side. I will zoom in right here and you can see that there really is no difference. It's barely bigger, but it adds a huge difference and also if you still need more space, you can do the same technique with commas, quotation marks, hyphens, but those seem to be more noticeable than periods. So you can try it, but there you might get caught. Alright, have fun.
