How to name Defensive Positions

Let’s take a look at some defensive football and see how defensive teams tag their players by positions. The O’s on the board are the offensive formation lined in pro-right I. The defenses are the letters. They are lined up in a base three or four defenses cover three. The N stands for nose guard. He lines up over the center. We have strong safety who is primarily is run support guy and depending on coverage can also drop into coverage and we have the free safety that plays deep in the middle of the field or comes up when people blitzes so we have nose, two tackles, two defensive ends or hybrid linebackers a mike and will. Two corners, strong safety and a free safety. This is a base three four cover three.
