Hello and welcome to sport school. My name is Alex Devine, this segment right here we are going to teach you how to jump a box jump. A box jump is a transition take off, a nice flat deck and then a transition or a wedge landing.
We are going to start with the first player, nothing crazy just going to pop out from the transition. Right there was the first attempt; just making sure you got enough speed to fill the transition now. Feel a little bit of pop up to top land on the deck. The second attempt you want to go with a little bit more speed, you are going to pump the transition a little bit more harder, jump in making sure you spot in the land and ahead of you which going to take this in a couple of steps just so you do not get hurt. Jump in the deck making sure you get a little bit closer to the landing and hopefully by the last one you are going to be going quite a lot of speed. You are going to pump the transition; you are going to do a bunny hop at the top of the lift. Level your bike out, you are going to spot your landing, put both wheels into the landing and ride down nice and smooth.

So once you start jumping the box jump there is a couple of ways you can get over this thing is that what we call in the business racer net which is just taking all your speed not popping the lift, you are just pushing through the lift, absorbing it just pushing through and just clearing it and taking your speed on to the next obstacle in the skate park or you can take all that speed pump the take off and boost the box jump. Now I will take you to a racer and then we will go and do a boost.

That was a racer. Stayed really low, did not put any effort into bunny hopping now I am going to take the same speed and boost it.

All right so that is how you jump a box jump just remember a couple of key points when you are jumping this thing. Make sure you are taking all your speed, you are pumping the transition, you are going to level out your bike, you are going to look toward the land is. You are going to spot your landing, put your wheels down, ride away from the transition, hit whatever is in front of you after that. So take these skills down to the skate park.
