This is Larry Grams Powell on the bass, it is a very popular video on YouTube. A lot of people are watching it, everybody wants to learn how to play it. Everybody wants tabs. There are no tabs to my knowledge so let me demonstrate here for you now. It is the first time I ever did this so be patient.
Okay, we are going to do it on the A string fifth fret to seventh fret, want to do hammer on with our thumb, a lot of thumb in this song, even there a little better.
(Demo)
So, three hits on the A. So hammer on.
(Demo)
Three hits on the A. Okay? Now, you do three hits on the A you are going to do same hammer on again
(Demo)
It is pretty simple so far. Okay now, A after that placed hammer on or you want to just come down on the string and make a dead note, okay? You do not want to hit any notes you just want to make the sound.
(Demo)
So, see? Now, G string seventh fret and ninth fret, you have to do a pull your finger, you know pop or whatever the hell it is called. So, what you have now is.
(Demo)
The part is a little tricky because you got to move your hand quick, the trickiest part of the song if you ask me.
(Demo)
So, hammer three hits on the A.
Demo)
Hammer that note pull with this, okay? Now, we are going to have another little pull-pop session here, just two notes so it is going to go.
(Demo)
Okay you got to get those in there, very important.
So, after you do your on the G string your hammer on.
(Demo)
You are just going to dead note, dead note. You are going to slap and pop a dead note like this, see? Easy. Now, after that were going to go back to the same hammer on we did on the A string, two times little fast this time.
(Demo)
And then three hits on the E, so, so far we are at.
(Demo)
Okay, almost done, stick with me. After that, we do the little ending part which is the A octave and the G octave okay?
(Demo)
Slap, pop, slap pop. Alright you are going to have little variations in any way you want. That is fifth fret and seventh fret on the A. You know E string, A string octave, third fret and fifth fret on the G and the D string, G on the D string. So all solved.
(Demo)
I also forgot to mention that little one extra hit you are going to put on the very low E before you hit that octave.
(Demo)
I want to slide up with that.
(Demo)
Okay and there you have it.
(Demo)
Make sure you use a lot of thumb and beat the hell out of it. I hope that helps.
