Hey guys, what’s up? It’s Aaron. This next song that I'm going to teach you is on a new song Miley Cyrus who is better known as Hannah Montana. But I'm not ashamed to say that I really like this song.
Alright, the tab that I'm going to give you, I think it’s pretty easy, it’s got a lot of the same chord progressions that you have used with some of the other songs. So you may recognize it and you may not. But it sounds a little something like this. [Demonstration]
So that’s the first, the chorus is basically the same through. So what I'm going to do is teach you the chords you’re going to need to know for this. We’re on standard tuning obviously, no capo. So we just got E, A, D, G, B, E, okay. The first chord is an E chord. That’s where ring and middle finger are here on the second fret of your A and your pointer finger is on the first fret, third string up, okay. So, third string up, pointer finger, 1st fret.
Now, if you’re playing a lot of these song and you play all six strings, this little E note is the base. Guess why it’s called E chord because it’s an E base note. But it sounds better if you try to avoid that note actually. So you can either touch your thumb on it. See this thumb, it’s rested gently or you can just try and… Just strum the bottom in five-string, but it sounds much better if you can get rid of that. Okay, you strum that for two times for the major. So for the first, you’re going to play E for one measure, E for another measure, A which is this and F#m, okay.
Now, once you have played your first two measure of your E, I'm going to get to an by basic lifting up your pointer and lifting middle, leaving your ring just right where it is and sticking your pinky finger on the second fret on the string right below your ring. Okay, so now you have this ring finger is on the same place it was earlier, which is your D string, the second fret and your pinky is on the second fret of your G string, okay. And this A, you can strum all six strings if you want. I like to just strum kind of like the bottom four or five, but it’s up to you.
So that’s for one measure, okay. And the fourth measure is an F#m. So you’re barring across all six strings, then your ring and pinky go here on the fourth fret of your A and D string. Okay, that’s an F#m chord. So the strum patter is [Demonstration. Switch to this A [Demonstration. Switch your F#m [Demonstration. Okay, so you go through that twice, so you got [Demonstration]. And repeats that again the second time through with every step I'm taking, every move I make feels, walking that direction, my faith is shaking, okay. And then there is a pre course and basically that is where she says but I got to keep trying, got to keep my head held high.
The four chords you’re going to play for that is the C#m, all that is if you know the B minor is, slide everything up two frets. So this bar is on the fourth fret, bottom five strings, middle finger goes here on the second string on the fifth, ring and pinky, two middle strings on the sixth fret, it’s a C sharp minor chord, okay. But I got to keep trying and I got to keep trying. Instead of bringing on the bottom five, okay. Now you’re going to lift this up, bar all six strings instead of on five and move those two fingers. So you’re now barring for all six in the 4th fret, ring and pinky are on the sixth fret of your A and E-string, got to keep y head held high. So it’s the first in the pre chorus. I'm not going to sing, but I’ll give you kind of the key words as I’ll strum to the first in the pre chorus of this thing, kind of put it together. So I'm going to start out [Demonstration] second verse. Sorry I didn’t sing but it ‘s really way too off for me, so there is no point in me trying.
Now, the chorus is only the other part to this. There is always going to be another mountain, I'm always going to have to make it move. The good thing about this is the first time through, the chords is the same as the intro. It’s an E [Demonstration]. The same strum pattern. It’s two-measure for the E. So two measures of the E just like in the verse and you have A. Same strum pattern and your F#m. So your first time to the chorus, all the chorus is the same as the verse was.
The second time through, you’re going to do still the two measures of E [Demonstration]. Once you get to, ain't about what's waiting on the other side, you’re going to go back up to the C#m we did a minute ago. You’re going to play [Demonstration]. Slide everything down two frets to be B minor, [Demonstration] slide those two fingers down to A. So if you pay attention, these two-finger never move the whole time. So they are up here [Demonstration]. Slide everything down two frets to B minor. You’re going to get you’re a, you take the bar, take the middle finger off, slide this down here and then it’s a climb, finish the chord with another E chord.
Verse two is the same and I actually don’t see much of a bridge. So that should be it. Good luck with the songs guys and girls. I hope that helped. Sorry I can’t sing even if it’s too hot for me. So, remember checking out freeandeasyguitar.com, got a lot of really cool stuff that I'm pretty exited. We got some other musicians that maybe less well known, a couple of people that you have heard from YouTube singing songs and couple people from other things. But they are going to teach some of their own songs on the site, so you can kind of explore joiners and meet some new artist and also learn some of their music. So check that out freeandeasyguitar.com and hope you have a good week. Take care.
