How to replace a toilet fluidmaster

All right on today’s freebie, we are going to show you how to replace a Fluidmaster. All you got to do is go to your water supply line, turn it off, which we did. Come on up. This is what we are replacing, this old cut bowl valve. We are going to replace it with this Fluidmaster. These are the tools you will need, a pair of tail locks, a washer for the back end for the fluid master and a supply line for the water. All right, now that we know that we have got everything turned off. You want to come up here and look here. There are two nuts holding that cut bowl on. I am just going to use the old crescent to get it off, righty tighty lefty loosy. Great that was free, no problem, pretty easy, then the other one off. I just want to undo it a little bit and then spin it off. It is too easy. Oh this is the picture, now this is what we are replacing. Just pop that bad boy out of here. We know it is loose from the bottom. This is too easy. All right, now that we got that ugly bad boy out of there. Just take this little washer and just push it all the way like that. This is too easy, that is at the bottom, that is what is going to go in the inside of this toilet. Grab your little water supply, stick it right on in there. This is too easy. I mean there is just nothing to that. Okay, and then replace it right where you want it, not like this right here because you know that you are going to stick this here. So just kind of guide it before you screw everything down. Get this out of the way of the handle, like that right there. Now you are ready to tighten up down stairs. Alright now that we know upstairs and we got everything in place just try to put these two nuts back on I’m holding it upstairs with my hand. I am keeping it in place as I tighten this first one up. I don’t want it to move upstairs because we have it just right. Okay, I am still holding it and I am just tightening it now. Okay, that is good and tight. Here we go, this one basically can be hand tight. Okay, everything looks good. Now we are just going to turn the water on. Okay, no leaks, excellent. Let us go upstairs and see what we got. We will watch it fill up and make sure it does the right thing. This guy right here, he just floats up and stops. Let us see if he is going to work for us. No leaks down here, we are still good. Everything looks good. It looks like this toilet can use some sort of cleanser but we will notify the homeowner on that. Like I said, this job is just too easy. That was a quick fix, it was probably about 3 or 4 minutes, you know to stop a toilet from sitting there leaking. You know it is irritating to hear and on top of that, you are paying money out for no reason. We want to keep our water. We are almost there, this is just what you got to do anytime you install something like this. Almost, I can see it working. Hey, not bad for free.
