When you put the wires around the screws make sure that the you wrap it the same way you turn it. So when you tighten the screw you wrap the wire tighter around the screw. If you do it the way he did you might not have the wire where it needs to be.

video is hilarious. "Ima man...I got muh big tool belt on to replace an outlet" Classic example of a redneck trying to look classy and well off with his cheap gold jewlery and giant over sized tattoos... smh

He didn't show when and how to turn off or turn on the breaker. I know that there was a disclaimer at the beginning and may be obvious - but if you are showing something as simple as how to take off the plate, you should really also say when and how to turn off the breaker. I believe this could be a dangerous video. Also, didn't he expose the wires too much? Once put back into the wall, they would be touching things. It is probably somebody like this who wired my house in the first place. Please fix this video!

NO ONE LISTEN TO THIS MAN HE IS A HACK! First off it is stated by code that you cannot use any device as a means of connecting other devices. This is so that if you ever remove a device, such as this outlet, anything after it in the circuit will remain live and touched. Any real electrician would have pigtailed the wires together and connected the new outlet to the pigtails. All that aside however, can someone please tell me what side the 'positive' is on an ac circuit? Last i checked, there is a hot and a neutral, unless the basics of electrical theory have changed. And then on top of that there is the whole thing with the wires being stripped to much and under the screws the wrong way, like everyone else had previously stated. Putting the wires back into the wall, you should never rely on the screws to put the outlet where its going. The way you bend the wires should in fact leave the outlet so it is in the box entirely, and all the screws do is ensure it doesnt move. Taping is smart

Wires wrapped the wrong way, stripped back waaaay to far. Hacks should not be posting how to videos. Someone who does not know better is going to get hurt.
