Male Speaker: Now that the ICM is connected to the network. Let's begin the setup and configuration process using the standard web browser. The setup pages are preloaded into the ICM, so no software is required on the PC. Any web browser can be used to configure the ICM. To display the setup pages, open a web browser like internet explorer and type Honeywell/setup, you do not need to type a www or .com just Honeywell/setup. The browser will retrieve the setup pages from the ICM and launch the setup wizard. The setup wizard walks us through the setup process, click next to begin the setup wizard; this brings us to the device selection page.
The ICM's are listed on this page including their Ethernet Mac address, IP address and device type. Click on unknown to begin the setup process of the ICM. The first step is entering the Node name, enter the security node name for the ICM. This will be used throughout the setup process to identify the ICM. The ICM may have multiple ports; an ECP port is available on the Vista ICM and communicates with the security panel. Select this Honeywell Vista security protocol from the drop down in the ECP port. Also, name the device and it would available and identified on the user interface pages. Click the next button to continue with setup. A green check marked in the done box indicates this portion of setup is complete. Click next to continue the setup process. This brings us to the configuration setup pages. Click on the security ICM link to continue.
The Vista security panel has four programmable function buttons. The ICM allows you to name these buttons to match the security programming. Enter the name for the programming of the function such as home, away, fire, and panic. The Vista ICM communicates with the panel using the keypad buzz and requires a keypad address. Select the keypad address that ICM will use to communicate with the panel. Remember, to activate that address in the security system panel programming. The ICM also allows you to select the email addresses in the event of an alarm condition. Click the email button to configure this option. Select the email events that you would like to receive and enter up to three email addresses or cell phone text message email addresses to receive notifications.
You can also change the subject line to identify the location of the alarm. Once you've entered the email information, click the done button to continue with setup. Again, the green check mark indicates the configuration setup step is complete. The final step is to save the settings. In the event of a power failure, the ICM will restore the configuration and setup information to its configured state. Now that we've configured the ICM, let's take a look at the user page. From the web browser, enter Honeywell again; do not type www or a .com just type Honeywell. Click on the security button to activate the security web page from the ICM. The four function buttons that we've programmed are displayed as well as set security keypad.
You could use a security keypad just like a keypad installed in the wall. Any PC with the web browser can now access the user interface page for the security system. It's as simple as that that completes the setup of the security Vista ICM.
