Hi everyone, this is Foo Foden. Today I am going to show you what happens when you get TimeZone Buddy for the first time. You are actually given what I call it giver and when you erase it, it is a little round guy. He is going to asked you what language you watch your instructions in, English, French or Netherlands (Dutch). So we are going to ahead and pick English for English instructions and when we do that, it will tell you where it is going to rest, it does not take very long, you should get it. There are just a few moments, if you do not get it make sure you are not in a script-restricted zone. Keep this and what we are going to do now, go ahead and retrieve it and I will be with you in just a moment.
Okay it is now in our inventory and we have our TimeZone Buddy, we also got our date capsule down here. Now that data capsule is explained in another video, essentially it for permanently storing your settings and also putting on your buddies so you can track their real lifetime and that is explained in another video.
Okay, for now we are going ahead and wear TimeZone Buddy for the first time. It is going to come out. It’s going to great you in a few different languages. Now it is going to ask you if you want to do easy set-up or low premiere data capsules. If you are going to do the daily capsule, we would cancel and just drag our data capsule out and click on update and we have been done. We got to do the easy set-up the first time. So we are going to click on easy set-up. Now the thing that should be ask here is, what is our time compared to GMT? Now it GMT time, the Greenwich meantime if the 25th of July at 2AM in the morning. I am in Florida, I am on the east coast, if shortly after 10PM at night and it is 19th. So my time, in local time is earlier, I am going to click one. Now what is your local date?
My choices here are:
1. The 19th, 20th or the 21st, so I am going to pick the 19th because that is what the day it is. And is it morning? No, it is not. It is in the evening, 10PM. Now here, go ahead and turn this magnifier on for you, he is asking for that hour, my local hour is 10:04 right know. So our hour 2200 hours, for those observing 24 hour clock. So I am going ahead and I am just going to click on 10PM. Okay, it is asking me, What is your local time closes to? Well, actually it is 10:05 right know and that is correct, that is right on there. That is the closes time and the others are showing like a half hour before half hour after.
2. It is normally what people would pick. Okay are you in the US or Canada? Yes I am. So I am going ahead and click on yes. Are you currently observing daylight savings time? Well it turns out we are because one time I would say no and I will be asked with some more questions, quickie questions are “Do you observer daylight saving times at all?”, for US we always do, Arizona you never do, so you will answer accordingly. So we are going to say yes, okay and now it comes up and you can see it says minus 5 that is our time zone description and that is correct and USA equals yes, so that just means we are following the time in USA and yes we observed daylight saving times when it happens. What this means is that daylight savings time for the people of US or Canada where follows United States or Linden Labs, they were automatically see their correct changing of the time automatically whenever Linden Labs changes for daylight savings you never have to touch it again and that is minus 5, that was for Florida which is east coast. That is our standard time and that is where is set-up. So okay.
Here we go back to the touch or TimeZone Buddy. It is one of the instructions, we are going to take it off, so we have to do and now we are going to re-wear it and that is going to read all those primers you just loaded in. So here we go for the first time, initializing, it is processing and there is a future alarm, I will explain more about that in another video, and you can see that it has me down at 10:07PM, which is correct and 707 for second life. There are three hours behind us so this is correct. I
