Now, we’re going to explore the keys of the piano. We have at the piano all together 88 keys which is seven and one quarter octaves. They are made out of white and black keys and when you look at the keyboard carefully you will noticed that you have groups of two and three, two and three which is a reiterated process. A group of two and three, this is a reiterated process. Then actually, we have letter names for these keys. The first one we’ll know is A—A is found on three black keys and between the first two here, A. Now as we go on the neighbors B, C, D, E, F G. Now, after G we go back to A, there is no H, I, J, K so after G is back to A, B, C, D, E, F, G and back to A again. This cycle repeats itself all the way until the end where we get to A, B, C, all together 88 keys.
So, the notes begin with A out of the three black keys we choose two, the one in the middle and the last one here in between is A. A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. Now we go back to A, B, C, D, E, F, G and we recycle back to A. Remember in the musical alphabets, we don’t have H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P although we have that in our alphabet sound.
