Do you have any computer, internet or technology questions? If you are free to ask them out cleartechinfo.com. Remember the only stupid question is a question you don’t ask.
In this tutorial, I will show how to easily cleanup, optimize and free up hard drive space on your windows compute using a free program called CCleaner. For those of you who are wondering CCleanear stands for crop cleaner. Open up your browser, type in ccleaner.com, go to that site find the download link. There is a couple of them right here or here and click enable.
It will provide you with two download links, click either one, it doesn’t matter. Click C file, when the download is complete go to that folder that you have downloaded it to. Double click the file, click run, choose the language of preference, next click I agree, next, you can uncheck if you don’t want any yahoo toolbar installed in your computer. I preferred not ton but it’s your choice.
Click install, and you are done, finish. Close the everything that was open. It would install icon on your desktop, double click the CCleaner icon, and it will opens up. Here’s an added benefit of the program. It will tell you the exact operating system you have. In this case it is Windows Vista Ultimate and the service package would you have. Mine is the service pack one. It will tell you the CPU and exactly how many Gigahertz it is. It will tell you the amount of RAM. In my case, I have four gigs installed on to my computer, but since it is a 30-bit operating system, it only recognizes about roughly 3.2 gigs. It will also tell you the video card which you have installed. Mine is a G-Force 9600 GT. On to the clean up, if this is already clicked, click cleaner and it will check everything that will cleanup all the different areas. Click run CCleaner, click OK. It will check your whole system. If this is the first time that you are running it, it may take up to about half hour. You may have a lot of junk on your computer and you could possibly remove gigs of data that you don’t even need or want. And in this case, I removed 408 megabytes. The next thing is a registry. I want to give a big warning of ever messing with the registry. All you need to do is just delete one little file and windows will not start up. You just get this big error message that all file can’t be found and you will not be able to start your computer.
So if you ever mess with the registry and delete one little file or a program like ccleaner, deletes it and you cannot bring up your windows, that’s all on you, messing with the registry is dangerous. But if you have everything backed up and you don’t mind if window hasn’t come up. You can go to this option, and it does actually delete a lot of items in the registry that is unneeded like scan for issues, click big selected issues. You want to back up changes into your registry YES. Always click the YES. Whenever you mess with the registry, it will show you the exact folder and the filename to save this back up too. That is the location, click SAVE or you can click browse folders to save it where you want it to be saved. It just shows desktop. Then you can go issue by issue or you can just have to fix everything at once by clicking FIX ALL SELECTED ISSUES. Click CLOSE and it also have a couple of other options tools. This is basically the windows uninstaller. You click an item which is a program and uninstall it, different option you can set. And that is your introduction to CCleaner.
