Welcome back to Powerhouse Kickboxing. Today we're going to talk about elbow strikes. The elbows lay powerful punches, it like joints than bones so it’s more firm and also it’s a bone. So, watch your fist position. It shouldn't be like this, the fist position like see, it should stay this way. Because if you turn your fist you can't support the angle, you can't support the body weight with these muscles. It’s not possible.
So, turn your fist this way and part is the bone that is different elbows. So, if it’s straight elbow here, either it faces the tip or you're going like cutting line, like this is also deep. But if its go little bit too straight, so you're using like you are rotating hip and shoulders and so you are using this part of the bone. Again, don't turn the fist this way. It’s wrong, it’s soft, you can flex it. So it will be less power or else you're going to hit you nerve of the arm when defending. Try to use elbows in combination of two just to learn to keep your shoulders up and your hands up.
So for blocking, also for attack. So move straight elbow, rotate elbow, elbow, elbow. So again, using your hip but not just elbow, so you have to use the body weight again see. 1, 2, again watch your wrist position, 1, 2 don't do it like this. 1, 2.
