Windows Internet Explorer 8 works with some of the webs most popular sites to make it easier to do the thing you do everyday online. Two great examples are the combination of Internet Explorer 8 with Windows Live and Live Search.
You now have fast and easy access to your favorite Windows Live services like e-mail and blogging, as well as Live Search for the web and maps through the new Accelerators featured in Internet Explorer 8 which lets you access online services in a single click.
Instead of copying and pasting text from one web page to another, just highlight the text you want to use then click the Accelerator icon. From here, you have a number of options to choose from.
Let’s say you are reading a restaurant review and want to send part of the review to a friend in an e-mail message. Select e-mail with Windows Live Hotmail and a tab will open with a new e-mail message containing the highlighted text.
If you want to do a quick web search for a particular word or phrase, just select it, click the Accelerator icon and choose search with Live Search. To find out where the restaurant is located, just highlight the address then select Map with Live Maps. A preview map will appear showing you the location of the restaurant. Click the map link and a new tab will open to provide a full view.
And if you want to post part of the review on your blog, just select Blog with Windows Live Spaces. You can also translate text into another language without leaving the page. Just move the pointer over Translate with Windows Live and an instant translation will appear with a wide range of languages to choose from.
Live Search has provided great improvements to help you search online with Internet Explorer 8. If you use the Search bar to look for sites with Live Search, you can get a visual preview for a variety of search results.
Web Slices from Live Search provide up-to-date information from all over the web. You can find Web Slices on the Live Search result page when you search on information on weather, traffic or finance.
With these new Web Slices and Accelerators from Windows Live and Live Search, you can use the Internet Explorer 8 to make your time online faster and easier.
