Hey YouTubers, what is up? it is Off Centered Potter here. Get ready to make a marbled pot. I have a three brown clay pieces ready to throw and two porcelain. They are a little dirty on the outside because of my hands had brown clay whenever I wedge them. But that would not really mess up the effect.
So we are going to start by centering each one of these pieces individually stocking them on top of each other to make the clay a little easier to work with, so off to the wheel.
Here we have the first piece centered and we are going to add the second piece on top and center those two together. Okay, so we have cut the second piece of clay pretty much centered on the top. It is not perfect, but we are going to have to keep centering anyway. So now we are getting ready to add the third piece of clay, the brown clay on the top of this and center those three together.
We are ready for the fourth piece. It looks like the porcelain is completely gone, but it is not—it is just covered up with slip. As you can see it is still very much there. So we are going to add the next piece of porcelain on the top now. This is what it looks like before. I have just basically slammed the porcelain down as you can see it throws the piece of centers so you got to work on a couple of things. One, you do not want to want any air or anything if you get them between the seam there and then two, you have to risk the whole piece because as the force when you put this clay down kind of throws the rest of this off. So we are going to work that clay into our mix now and then we are going to add the brown on the top.
We are ready for our last piece to go on the top. Now it is time to throw the piece.
[Demonstration]
Okay, while the batteries run out while I was throwing the piece so I did not get to show you all that, but here it is all done. Here is the inside and the outside did not quite come out exactly what I wanted. But if I kept pushing the clay and trying to get too much out of it. It was going to fall, so what to do with this form for now, I am going to let it get hard and then I am going to use the turn tool and kind of lightly run the turn tool over it because I think there is more of the marble effect to be seen still, but it is hiding underneath the layers of the clay, but all in all, for an amateur, not a bad day’s work.
Until next time YouTubers. Adios.
