This tutorial will show you how to use file manager in cPanel.
You may prefer to manage the files in your site using an FTP program like CuteFTP or WS_FTP, Alternatively, you can use our web-based file manager.
Your site files will be in the public_html directory.
Ok, let's get started. First let's see how to create a new folder (directory).
As you can see new folder called photos has been successfully created.
Let's rename the new directory.
Let's take a look now at how to upload file. we will upload a file to the cgi-bin.
Browse your hard drive for the file you wish to upload.
You may upload as many files as you like by repeating this process.
If the file already exists in the site and you wish to upload an updated version, click to overwrite the existing file.
As you can see, the file is now uploaded. At this point, you can edit the file or modify its properties.
File manager displays the file permissions for all files and directories. Some files require special permissions to operate properly. Let's see how that's done.
File with .cgi extension commonly requires a permission of 755. you can either enter the number manually or check the boxes that apply to the permissions you would like to grant.
That's all there is to it! You now are able to manage your site files with our web-based File Manage.
