Alright folks, this is the second video in the selection we are doing on beat juggling turntable is. Now, very quickly, a lot of people think that turntable is just for hip-hop DJ’s. Now then, predominantly hip-hop DJ’s will use the turntables go from one to the other, lots of scratching and that sort of thing which is known as turntablism but there is no one out there that says, “No one can say that is only for hip-hop DJ’s”, anyone can do it from Soul, RNB, Hands Techno, Trans you can all do but the scratching beat of cutting and also mess around with the beats while you are in the mix or while you are doing your set.
Now then, I suggest first well you go and check out that video and then you will work out and you will actually start while we are doing this one here. Now, what I am going to be doing first when the records I am using is my left hand side it is the champion on champion records, it is a track in top of break full of is by raise, it is a remix and the remix is by Roy Malone’s all star remix and in my right hand side it got ATM with all track in top rise to the top. Now, what I am going to be doing is simply this, both of the records in we play it together at one point I am going to stop one record and I am going to let the other one play. When I stopped I will be going to let that play so they will be both playing together again but the one I stopped will be behind by two or three beats, two or three buzz the beat behind the other one.
For the other one, for this one here to catch up the one I stopped I need then to stop the other record the same length of time. so I am stopping that for the same moment of time while the other one is playing and then bringing that one back in and likewise doing the same over and over again. Almost what I am doing is footsteps because again one foot forward then the next one, then the next one then eventually when you stop ideally when you stop still your feet are together and you stopped together as suppose to by that.
I hope that is as clear as mud but I hope by showing you now in practice you will see where I am coming from. Bare it in mind, I am no expert and the beats may be all over the place, the whole policy of this video is not just to show you how brilliant I am because I am not. The whole idea of this video is to show you how it is done. Here we go.

Now, very quickly you saw what I was doing. Now, to actually physically do that is very difficult to keep in beat but think of it from the next level on that is I had both volumes all the way up right. Now, this is what you need to do, when the one is playing or they are both playing together, logically you will have both volumes up, now when you stop one instead of having it the volume all the all the way up and you can hear it move and possibly that is the chance of you getting off beat. What you need to do is bring the volume down, listening on your headphones, listen and remember that gap, remember the full beats, eight beats, two bars, three bars or whatever, remember that gap.
On your headphones so you are listening like so, this one is playing now you are listening to this one and we are getting it ready.
(Demo)
We are getting ready on that beat. Now, who is to say that you cannot throw that beat in, get it in beat with the pitch control and when you know it is in beat then slowly bringing the volume back up, then what you do they are both playing together again and then you can do the opposite with the other side so what you do is you stop it. You bring the volume down like so. You make sure it is in beat but whatever you do keep the position where the beat is. Do not spin it back, do not spin it forward, it is very important to keep that position so get it ready on that perfect beat where it was volume down, and then start it, boom like that. Get the pitch in beat, get it in beat so it is lined up and when you know it is lined up you slowly bring the volume back up again.
By doing that way what you will guarantee if you can beat match is that they will always be in beat. Again, it is footsteps alright. This is the second video, I hope it is being as clear as mud but thank you for watching practice and enjoy. Any comments or queries stick them underneath and we will try and take this a few more steps forward. Practice and enjoy.
