This video tutorial is brought to you by JimmyR.com the best in the internet. This video I will be showing you how to take FLV files from youtube and turn them into AVI or WMV files so you can easily edit in your windows movie maker or virtual dove, whatever you use to edit videos with. And you can make proper video responses to your favorite youtube personalities like cutting pieces of their video and then responding to them.
For example I will take the wine cone. You can screen capture the videos if you click this, it resizes to 320x240 but this is a pretty in efficient method. I like to just down load the FLV, so to down load the FLV I am going to copy the URL, control C to copy or you can just right click and click copy. I am going to go to Google and then I am going to type youtube downloader. And most people type video downloader and get this results but it is not the first result when you click youtube downloader. This one is which is about the same thing. I click down load URL and it takes a few seconds and it gives me the URL. You can just click it, it is about 5 megabytes it is pretty small and I get a file called get video. I am going to rename it to .FLV.
Now if I have a FLV player like VCL media player I can actually view the video. I actually like this one because it is also really easy and very small file size. It is called FLV player 1.33, it is really good. Now that I have the video I need something to change to an AVI or WMB or MOV. So I am just going to go to Google.com and I am going to say media encoder, also this works if you want to put youtube videos on your Ipod, that only accepts mp4 videos. But I click down load and here we say media code or full pack down load. You can get the developer release or the older release it really does not matter. Just click developer, the only problem is it is kind of big because it has just a bunch of video codec.
So it can be 17 megabytes I believe it was. So just click it, click save and go ahead and down load. If you view youtube’s videos a lot, 17 megabytes and then the whole lawn, so now I have it open, I installed it just run the installer, truly easy and straight forward. This is what media coder looks like and the some converter video’s it is really easy, I just drag and drop the FLV file inside of it. I can use multiple FLV files if I want to convert multiple videos and by default it says summary but I want you go to video. We are going to set the bit rate to 256 to 384 because we are uploading to youtube. You can make an AVI top load into youtube, you can make an mp4 to upload unto your ipod. It really dows not matter.
We have XVid, we have the codec Mac uses, we have the Mpeg4 which I think is the same thing as DVex. So it just has a ton of encoding option you can use. I am going to use XVid, we have ABR, mp3 audio with lame and I am selecting Mano with 22 kilobytes per second. If you want, if you have music I recommend using maybe 44 or 32, 22 kilobytes per second now is really small file size and it really works fine for speech you do not really much more in 22. but again I set the bit rate base, I do not want it quality or any of these other one. I send it to XVdi, AVI, I auto select the source and the backyard it really does not matter. Now I just convert the video, I just click the video, I click start and it starts converting the video. It does not taking very long especially for shorter videos actually outputs really good quality AVI. Just duplicates them and now once the AVI is finished I can put it in virtual diver something. And actually edit the video.
So here is the output, it is video .AVI and here is the wine cone. It worked it is an AVI now, I can actually use virtual dove, dragging in some virtual dove and maybe get only a piece of the video, start and then I can always save that segment, segments of AVI and then I can just cut and paste pieces of my video response through what he says.
