How to Blind Type Part 2
Number four—this is the big one for me. Practice and rest, another obvious and but often overlooked thing that you do is rather than mindlessly copying lines into a text file. Try talking to your friends on MSN or other messaging programs. This will create a much more random need for key locations and speed up the searching process dramatically over much sort of period of time. After all, you spent a week solid writing “the red rabbit jump gracefully over the fence,” then went then when you were to type, “Hi Marcus,” you have a break from your routine and find the key all over again.
Using any method though, you will need to take regular breaks, this helps you refocused your fingers and increase accuracy—that is true. If you find yourself just like canceling… and you just can not get anything out, you are too tired. Walk away; I do not care how important the task is, you may have to finish it in another 20 minutes or so.
Number five—finger key ownership. Each of your fingers remembers the key is being in a certain location and will often have a difference of opinion as it where it really is. To curve this annoying habit, you should allocate a finger to each key at the keyboard. This will decrease the amount of thinking that you have to do, increase your spelling accuracy, overtime and get can even encourage you to utilize more of your fingers overtime.
You know it just takes time. It takes practice, do not give up. I remember again, learning on that electric typewriter, I mean I had a warm up. I guess my grandmother did have typewriter that was not electric that it works. But the electric typewriter that I warmed up, I remember practicing and looking down and watching and I think it was a family friend, one of my parents’ friends they said, “You know, you will type faster if you do not look at the keyboard,” I look at them, “Are you crazy? How can you type faster if you are not looking at the keyboard?” And it is absolutely true.
Of course it is really funny when you are typing, if you are touch typing and you do not realize your off home row like if I am typing and try to transcribe something and your fingers are off and take a look, “What the heck is ‘buce’?” I have typing “buce” so many times “buce” and if you ever see me typing in “buce” that is me trying to typing the word nice but my finger is there off by one. So B is next to N, U is next to I, then C, E, “nice”. So, “b-u-c-e” instead of “n-i-c-e” then you know, then here my right hand is off on a “buce”. That is like the most frequent type error I make.
Yes, I think I just phoned to myself. Instead of saying nice that will be our signal. If you think something is really nice, it is “buce.”. It pretty cool, it is so Pirilla. And of course, if you having watching any many videos you have no idea what those things mean. It is okay, you are a pancake. But I do not know what that mean is either? But anyway, if anybody else has got these suggestions for typing or just regular skills and one might use through of their lives. I certainly appreciate it. It would be buce to hear you, to hear from you, you can email me chris@pirillo.com. As you all nice enough buce, I was going to call a bit of confusion.
Well, I am just trying all sorts of inside jokes at you. I apologize if this is the first video you seen, you got to understand. We normally have fun.
