Speaker: How to hard boil eggs? There are many ways to hard boil eggs. Today, we'll show you two methods. You will need a timer, water, a pan, eggs and a source of heat such as a stove top.
In the first method, you want to take your eggs out of the refrigerator 15 minutes before cooking. The eggs will cook in less time when they're at room temperature.
Step one, add your eggs to the pan. Be sure to only lay them in a single layer.
Step two, add enough water to cover about an inch over the eggs.
Step three, cover the pan and turn the heat on high.
Step four, once the water reaches a boil, set your timer for ten minutes. If you're at a high altitude, add a few more minutes to compensate.
Step five, once the timer goes off, turn off the heat using a spoon or tongs. Carefully take the eggs out of the hot water and place them in a bowl of cold water to cool them off.
Step six, once they've cooled sufficiently, crack them on a hard surface until they're easy to peel.
You've done it. A well cooked egg will have a nice yellow yolk. An overcooked egg's yolk will have a slight green color, but will still be okay to eat. You may want to adjust the cooking time to suit your preference. Just don't undercook it. Never eat an egg with the white part still liquid. You could get sick.
Method number two. You don't have to use room temperature eggs if you use this method. It just takes a little longer to cook them.
Step one, place the eggs into the pan with water like in method one.
Step two, cover the pan and turn the heat on high.
Step three, bring the water to a boil, then turn off the heat.
Step four, keep the pan covered and set the timer for 17-20 minutes. Wait for the timer to go off. Once it does, you're done. Just crack, peel and enjoy.
