Okay, today we will be learning how to change a baby's diaper. There will be several items you must purchase or have available before being able to do this. The items you will need are the following. Correct diaper size, wipes, a blanket, powder with corn starch which is optional and diaper rash ointment if needed.
The first step to changing a diaper is gathering your items. Before the child is brought to the changing area, make sure our blanket has been placed down, then bring the child to the changing area and carefully lay the child on the blanket. Tip, never leave the baby unattended during a diaper change. The second step of changing a diaper is removing the soiled diaper. Unfasten the tabs and remove the diaper, careful not the spill the excrement.
Take as many wipes as needed to clean the baby's bottom and private parts. Once the baby is clean place the new diaper underneath the baby's bottom. Fold the top up to the baby's stomach and fasten the tabs around the side. Tip, if the baby has diaper rash or dry skin ointment or powder with corn starch can be used to help the baby feel more comfortable. Now that the diaper is fastened adjust the baby and place in a safe area while cleaning up. Remember always to close the soiled diaper by folding the diaper and fastening its tabs, then throw it away. Make sure to close the wipes so they do not dry out. Last but not least always remember to wash your hands after changing has concluded.
