Today we are going to be charging an iPod using electrolytes and then onion.
You can find the electrolytes in Gatorade or PowerAde or any energy drink of your choice. For this project you are going to need a few items, the first item is going to be a white onion. Next would be two cups of Gatorade. Your iPod with charger and a screwdriver.
[Demo]
Once you have all your of the items, place the onion firmly down, hold it with one hand, and very carefully poke a hole in the right side, and then spin it around and place a hole in the left side. What is this going to do is allow the liquid to travel all through out the onion in much faster manner than just letting it soak.
[Demo]
Next you are going to take your Gatorade or PowerAde which ever you have chosen, remember you need two cups and I am going to place the onion within the solution. Make sure the holes are submerged, as we stated earlier this will allow the fluid to travel through out the onion much quicker.
[Demo]
In order for the store it properly, you are going to need to leave the onion in for 30 minutes as we see here, it has absorbed about half of fluid that was in there initially, but half is enough, you will be able to power your device at this point.
[Demo]
You are going to remove the onion, you are going to dry off all the excess fluid. Simply wrap it in a towel, rub it in and you should be set.
[Demo]
Place the onion in something that can hold it well. We do the shot glass here as it held it nice and firm. Go and get your iPod ready, make sure you use the USB charger and not the wall outlet.
[Demo]
Firmly push the USB adaptor in to the top of the onion and when you get that and you give a few seconds for the power to travel through and your iPod should power up, and it will be then charged.
[Demo]
You should be able to charge your iPod for about 15 to 20 minutes using this method that is assuming that your onion has absorbed at least one cup of Gatorade or PowerAde and there you have it, how to charge and iPod using electrolytes and then onion.
