Laura: Dick this is absolutely gorgeous here.
Dick: Is it lovely?
Laura: it is wonderful!
Dick: Alright, we are looking for camp site. Where are we going to be—safe, comfortable and have a really enjoyable time.
Laura: I like the sounds of that!
Dick Now Laura I think this looks like a pretty good site right here, do you noticed how flat it is.
Laura: Yes
Dick: It is well-drained, we got plenty of water, wood every place you look.
Laura: Now, I know this is might be damn question, why do I want a flat, well-drained?
Dick: Well, I am sure you do want to be sleeping in bumpy ground.
Laura: No.
Dick And if it is not well drained, water may accumulate, if it rains.
Laura: Oh! In the tent, right!
Dick: Right, and if happened to be traveling in the woods and you do not have water handy, you keep on eye on topo-map or you keep your eye out for a river or a spring as you are traveling. But I have one really important thing to show you in addition to this.
Laura: Let us go!
Dick I remember as were talking Laura, before I talk about another point that is very important in your camp making scene. Look up here, you see? That is a dead tree, it got a lean to it. Look at here, rotten this thing could fall in your tent.
Laura: So it is a danger?
Dick: Right.
Laura: Right, okay before we even deal with the danger. I just want to clarify few things that you said to me, there is four main points by camping site, right?
Dick: Yes.
Laura: Now, we want a flat and well-drained, this is why I am confused, if I can not find a flat, well-drained area, what do I?
Dick Well, you are carrying sleeping pad, and if you happened to have one that is air inflatable, blow it up a little bit harder and it level things right out.
Laura: Right, okay. Now, the other two points, I need lots of water and abundance of trees!
Dick: Right.
Laura: And of course my dangers. Get them out of the way.
Dick: Right, get out of the way.
Laura: So, what we are going to do with this tree then?
Dick Let us try to push it over.
Laura: You are kidding?
Dick: No, I think we can do it.
Laura: Okay.
Dick Got to get behind it, put your weight against it, we start to swing, just get it swing—a little bit more, and then we going to end up maybe some good wood, a little bit more, a little bit more. That big caplet, that does not want to let go. Let just get up here a little wider, one more. Well, that is far enough, it is out of the way. Now, we can cut it up for fire wood.
Laura: Nice, we are done.
