Alright, hey. What I am going to do here is I am going to show you how to take, clean up your guitar hero, guitar. So let's say you did what I did, I went down to the local game crazy and I picked up a used guitar and it came to me like this, all the stickers, totally laying, you can see that and I want to get this crap off of here. No problem, no problem at all.
First thing you want to do is, you want to take off the strap, you don't want to get that in your way. So we are just going to get rid of this. The next thing we are going to do is because this particular model allows us to remove the faceplate, we are going to go ahead and do that. If you have one of the older ones for the PS1 or the PS2, you are not going to be able to do that, but in this case we are, so I am going to and I will show you what to do on the other guitars later.
But what we are going to do is we are going to flip this over going to flip this little lab up here at the top and remove the neck, so you can get rid of that. Then you are going to click the unlock button and that's going to pop the face right out a little bit, you are going to have to hold it and then you want to take the face, you want to grab it up in here and then remove the faceplate. Okay, so now you don't need this anymore, so you are going to set this to the side. In a minute, what we are going to do is we are going to work with liquid. So that's why I want to take the faceplate off, because I don't want to get the liquid in the actual guitar.
The next thing you are going to do is you are going to just scrap some of this crap off and if you take a knife or your fingernails or whatever and just scrap it off. It's kind of stuck, because these are cheap stickers. But what you are going to do? Okay, now the next step we are going to do is we are going to take some of this material here, it's called Goo Gone. You can get this stuff pretty much anywhere just kind of like a pharmacy kind of place, sort of like any kind of home place HomeDepot, CVS, Walgreens, any kind of craft store Micheal's. This stuff is everywhere. What you are going to do? You are going to open it, and then you are going to -- so I am doing this over a sink. It would be great if you can balance it somewhere and what I am going to do is I am just going to put some of this on there. I am just going to put right on the sticker. I am going to be pretty generous with it and then I am just going to let it hang up for a few minutes. Just let it do its job.
Okay, so anyway they put like a lame sticker on there. Just to squirt that crap on there and then hang up for three minutes, probably less, but three safe. Alright, after it's set for a while and you can go ahead and just pick it up and go for the edge. One of these things and you can see that it's just going to come right up. It's going to leave some gunk, no problem, but just go ahead and get whatever you can off and then when you leave that little crappy sticker and residue, we are going to get that in a second, put some more GOO GONE, but it should may get into these stickers off initially much easier.
Then you will have a little junk left, which is cool, because you are just going to use some more GOO GONE on it. So let's go ahead and continue to do that. Some of those have come right off. Alright, if you don't have long fingernails like I do, I play the guitar, so I have a little bit of longer finger nail, but you can try using a butter knife. The problem is you want to be careful not to scratch the surface. Alright, this next step is an optional step, and when you have a nice clean faceplate like this, and it's going to allow you to put a nice sweet design on there.
This was just an example, but you can get one of these at a site called skinsbyme.com and basically they have designs like this, and it gives actually the shape of the guitar. Now, you would want to put that over another sticker, but like if you wanted to like spice this up, because this is kind of boring, it's just black, you put something really look like that, you don't want to keep the faceplate off, okay and that's going to be really easy and you are going to put that one on. Alright, just second I am going to tell you about an optional step. Here is what that's going to look like finished and that's pretty awesome stuff, and just place faceplate on there and you can get a skin just like that for about $20 at skinsbyme.com like guitar with skins, skinsbyme.com and you can really spice up your guitar. I mean no one has anything like that I mean that looks, that's hot. I mean you got to admit that. Alright, have a good day.
