How to DJ: How to Mix UK Garage Pt. 1

Alright, folks John is here. Now, in this video, it is going to be one, two, three parts. First of all the tracks, it is Mika Big Room Girl and ZED BIAS track entitled “Neighborhood”. This is UK Garage with Big Star Bias, just watch for this. This is our lesson,

Alright, hold tight. Okay, so what was happening? Well, the one track was playing because it is cause of vinyl turntable, then the CDJ, what I actually done is I got it right at the beginning of the beat.

Then just using natural cue button, what happens when you press that cue button…Bang…! Like that. the track will start. When you keep your finger on the cue button, the track will carry on playing as soon as you take your finger off the cue button. The track will go back to its original position. So, have a listen first of all,

Now, what you need to imagine now. Okay, this is the most important thing need to, “eat the germs” is there forever, and that is think of the funky drummer.

Now, what we do, because this is what my mind works. Think of a basic 4/4 beat bam, bam, bam, bam. If you hit that cue button like this,

It is okay, just as long as same beat but if you imagine boom between there, there is a lot of beats like this,

Then again, if you imagine there is more beats squashed in between those as well,

So, that is exactly what is happening, Funky Drummer,

So, what you have to do, you got to try to make your mind think of drum and bass.

So, in other words, what we do now, I will put the camera right close to the mixer on the actual CDJ turntable because there is no need to look at the vinyl turntable, that is plain by itself. You need actually to concentrate on my movements on the actual CDJ.

Then what will do, I will explain exactly what is happening with the mixers as well, hold tight. Here we go, bare in mind many of this edited, so well there is just one the actual vinyl turntable back a bit.
