All right folks, it is Jonathan here. Here is a question for you. What is this? That ladies and gentlemen is a Mirabel. What can we do with these?
Well basically, the Mirabel was one of the first ever lighting effects to be used in dance halls and for mobile DJs around the world. The beauty about the Mirabel and there is not really much that can go wrong with it. It is quite inexpensive. I will tell you what, believe it or not, it has a damn good effect especially for the beginning of the beginning or maybe when people are having a bit of a smooch or maybe just in a corner somewhere where you want to give a nice sort of mellow effect. What I am going to do now is that I will pause the camera and I am going to show you the best optimum way to set up your Mirabel to get a good quality effect. Now then, you will need a Mirabel, you will need a motor that will turn the actual Mirabel and you will need something called a pinspot. I will show you that very shortly.
Okay, we are down to our pieces of cake. But now then, bear in your mind that this is not the scale or anything like that and a cat anytime could walk over what I am doing. If you imagine here that you got a T bar like so, it is quite happily sort of sitting there doing absolutely nothing at all. Now, this is what I have done in the past. I have had – now, not right on the end here because of course if you have not got anything at this side, it could tip. Back here, that is where your motor is going to be situated and there is your Mirabel, like that. Now if you think about it, you need to put some light against that Mirabel. Now, some people will actually have the light facing that way. Now, the way that your light works, what will happen is that the light will travel that sort of direction like so. So, you will get a good effect on the ceiling, maybe the walls, but you would not get anything down here on the floor.
Now then, here is the idea. If you got two T bars, this is what I have done in the past and it works really well. Now let us say that your DJ set up is there. Again, if you got an actual framework, let us say for example that you got a framework like that. Now, I want you to imagine two things. One is that that is a basic framework going around the DJ setup. But also, that could in essence just be two T bars. The difference being is that if it was two T bars, you would not have that area there. Now then, this is what I have done. I have basically placed one Mirabel here on that side like that and then I put another Mirabel in that side like so. Also, you always got to bear in mind the idiot scenario. That is, it makes your cables out of the way, people do not get in the way and the telephone is going but I can answer that shortly and now the cat is jumping all over me. So, I just got really a cat.
Now, what you need to do now and this is what I have done, I have actually attached a pinspot here and attached a pinspot here. Now, that pinspot is not going to be pointing at that light and that one is not going to be pointing at that light. That one is going to be pointing over there and that one is going to be pointing over there. So now, the light from this one will hit the under side. I have not really got the angles right here so what I will do – if I show you here on this piece of paper…
