[music playing]
At that roll, it could be fast. And then the next one…[music shift]. A lot slower. Now then, straight away, I know that I got to speed that one up and I got to slow that one down. So, go back to this side like so. Speakers up like that.
[music stopped]
Now then, on this guy here, I have not got what is known as pan control. Now pan control, if we look here, you can just about see it. I got low, mid, high and trim. The trim is of course for gain control. That will increase and decrease the volume of each individual channel. The treble will increase the high, the mid will increase the mid, the vocals, the bass will increase the boom sound like the drum and bass or the bass in drum and bass. But what have not got with this guy is we have not got the pan control. Now then, what I can do – and again, I mentioned this in a particular video prior to this one but of course it is always nice to just go over it again in the future videos like this one that I am doing now.
So, what I can do is that I can actually set on my right hand deck in this side, I can set the pan control to the right hand side. This side, the left hand deck, I can set the pan control to the left hand side. Now then, if I got stereo speakers, I will be hearing this side, the right side, right deck through the right side, left deck through the left side. And then, you almost try to match the beat in the center. I have said this before and it is a good way of practicing. What we will do now is we will match these two beats up. We will start this one off.
[music playing] and we will get this in a moment. I am going to count. On my right hand side, my left hand side. Right hand side back to the left hand side. Now, if I did not have this on pan control, I would be able to actually hear the right hand through the right speaker, the left hand side to the left hand speaker. They are going off slightly now, let us get back in beat.
And again, what you can see me do sometimes is that you can see me move the pitch like that. Now then, I did explain this in a video that I made. It is possibly one of the first videos that I made. And how about this, think about it. Let us say that the beats are going off very slightly. One beat is behind the other. Now then, of course, the first thing that you are going to do is you got to speed up. With a lot of people, they will move the pitch a tiny bit forward, let us say for example, because that particular track is going too slow. So of course they think, by moving that pitch control forward, it is going to catch up. Well, it is not going to because it is too late. The track is already behind. What you will possibly need to do is push it up a lot further. In other words, yes admittedly if it went to the pitch. You move the pitch quite a lot. It would catch up, I do apologize. The trouble is then, if you go too far, if you left at that particular position, it would just carry on going. So, the idea is this. Let us say that one track is going behind, what you have to do is that you have to increase the pitch quite considerably until they catch up. And then, you bring the pitch back down. If you leave the pitch control up when they catch up, that track that used to be too slow will go too fast and go off beat. That is why it is a good idea to keep your hands on the pitch control.
Now a lot of things that I have discussed, in this particular video, I have gone over in the past but it does not really matter. To be honest, like I have said, if I do one video on one subject, then eventually, it is very to find in the millions and millions on YouTube. If I do two or three on the same subject, then it is a little bit easier to find. I hope that this has been a help. Practice and enjoy.
