Female: Hi, you might have already watched a segment on light foods and now we are introducing the segment on heavy-duty foods. Dick, could you please inform myself as well as the viewer on what you have got along here for heavy duty foods.
Dick: Okay, the word heavy is very important here because you do not want to put it on your back. You want to put it to canoe, put it on the horse, that type of thing. Now, to start today a hard breakfast is very important. Here we have pancakes with real maple syrup, granola or porridge and you have seen porridge in the other segment. All right now, we can include things like fresh fruit and veggies. And, on my two week canoe trips, we have fresh salad everyday and the things that last to there final days, I think it is like cabbage, carrots, onions and so on. Now, going to the foods that we have pre-packed with ourselves, here is a lunch, here is a dinner, here are the emergency foods.
Female: Okay and what would you find on the emergency foods?
Dick: I would put in beans, dried corn, dried peas, high calorie stuff, high-energy stuff.
Female: Yes, so we probably go on the viewer maybe also interested that we do the segment on foiled foods, which they could put in to there dinners or lunches.
Dick: They certainly could. And now, stir fries, macaroni, even stuff like canned ham, here is a Mexican meal, beans, cheese with tomato paste on tortillas, you got it.
Female: Now, hold on. What other meats can we put in here, we got ham, can I take chicken or sausages with me?
Dick: Yes, you could even take hamburger if you use it the first night, but do not go beyond that. And the other meats, red meats and chicken will keep four to fives days particularly if you put them into a cooler or frozen and then take some of your veggies and put it in there to keep it fresh as well.
Female: Oh, that is a good idea.
Dick: Now when you have tea, how about having a slice or two of ginger in your tea to spice it up, and then over here, easy vegetarian meals, different kinds of patties with fried peanuts, fresh onion in there, nice meal. Then you want something after that or for an appetizer, how about something interesting like bananas or sliced pineapple.
Female: That is so wonderful.
Dick: That is a nice addition to a meal or as I say an appetizer. Last but not least, nutritional yeast and this is very high protein contains all the B vitamins and can be used in a variety of different ways, you can put on to salads, put on sandwiches and put on popcorn.
Female: Now, I bet you try this popcorn previously with the nutritional yeast, it is fantastic.
Dick: And that is why they are so little left, but you can still have another bite of it.
Female: Thank you.
