How to Play Guitar: Blues Shuffles

I am going to show you a Blues progression. This is a standard blues shuffle, I am sure you have heard of it. It actually uses or fifth chord—our power chord—and also alternates to our sixth chord.

Now, the fifth is our fifth note. For instance, we have E as our fifth, and the sixth is F. It does not really matter, the notes basically, you just know that it is between the fifth and the sixth. It is all you need to know, and you alternate between these. This is quite a stretch, so you have to build up the strength in your fourth finger to move that around, like that. We are going to actually alternate. Let us try this out. This is the blues shuffle. (Demonstration) Let us try that again. I will slow it down a little bit for you. (Demonstration)
