First thing you want to do entering a rock garden is first to walk it and try to pick the line that you want to choose.
Before entering the rock garden, first get into attack position. Next, you want to choose a line that you are most comfortable with, figuring out where you want to place your wheels as you make your way down through the rock section.
Check your speed before entering a rock garden, and always look ahead and look for a good safe spot to brake while in the rock garden if needed.
When going slow through the rock garden, it is key to always stay off the front brake and keep your front wheel rolling by pushing with your arms through any dips or holes.
Once you have conquered the rock garden at slow speeds, you could then take the next step.
Loosen up on your bike, let go of your brakes, and try to skim through as many sections of the rock garden as possible.
