Hello, I am Michael. Continuing from the last review, this time we will be looking at data transfer from the new P2 from Samsung using Bluetooth technology. Using Bluetooth, we can transfer MP3 or picture files from the P2 to a Bluetooth device. Let us look at how it works.
To send a file to a cellular phone, push the File Transfer in the P2. P2 detects the presence of the Bluetooth devices near it automatically. Cellular phone is found for a File Transfer file; now transfer a picture file. When the receiving device approves to receive the file transfer starts. Seeing the album in the cellular phone, we can verify whether the picture file has been transferred normally.
Of course, we can transfer files the other way around as follows. Go to File Transfer mode in the cellular phone; choose the file that has to be transferred. Further, which the file was transferred, the transferred file is saved in the Received Files folder. You can see the acknowledgement transfer completed successfully. Not only pictures, also music files, text files, and even phone addresses can be transferred.
File transfer between P2’s are also possible, just like we transfer data to a cellular phone, find the device and choose the file. On doing so, the file is transferred, it takes some time to finish but it does not take too long. Bluetooth 2.0 is three times as fast as Bluetooth 1.2. You can transfer each file continuously, although you cannot transfer many files at the same time.
We transfer the music file first, now a picture file and now a text file. Okay, let us check the transfer, go to File Browser and click Received Files folder. Transferred files appear, open them in the music file, it works well. How about the others? Open the picture, and the text file. On successful received, we can confirm that the files are transferred successfully.
P2 is update at this point, seems to focus on the Bluetooth technology. Samsung has announced that the next update will be available in January of 2008. I am very curious to see what will be in the new update. I am Michael, goodbye.
