Speaker: I wanted to show you how I paint messages on to my cakes using a homemade piping bag from parchment paper and a fine tip piping nozzle and obviously some royal icing. I am often asked if I use cutters for my writing and the answer is, no, I don't. I do have cutters for certain types of writing, but freehand mainly is how I go. So here it goes. I should have some background music I think or maybe I could sing, but then that might have you switching off, keeping a steady hand. So it's not a good idea to have a glass of wine before you do this. Not that I would have a glass of wine at all and nearly finished.
I am going to show you how to get rid of all these small peaks that have appeared as well. Trying to talk I am doing this at the same time, which is why this is the greatest, almost like would be all day. Not very straight but in order for you to see what I am doing working an angle.
To get rid of all these untidy peaks, take a paint brush, suck in some water, squeeze the excess water out and go over the peaks with the flat end of the brush and that will tidy up nice before you before all dries. There you go finishing off nicely. One more, and there you are.
