Hi everyone. I thought I take a few minutes and show you how I organized classes for online.
First, I will take you to my Windows Explorer. And as you see, I have a lot of folders. My classes are in teaching, did not see it there for a minute. And I even have my folders organized for this year, next year and past years on my courses.
So, let us go this year’s courses.
Summer in 438 and you will notice that I have course information, pre-course and then a folder for each week. Pre-course information various from class to class. This one we did not have a whole lot to do when I first open the course. You just had to sign up for IBC.
The most important one to start with is the course information I put everything in here that is general information, many of the instructions and also the syllabus.
I have the Power Points that we used for the chronology and the theories. These are student’s presentations from my past courses. And then, we have each one of the week folders.
So, what I do is I go to the course information. I open up this syllabus and I scroll down to the schedule to figure out what goes where. So this schedule is just like the IBC outline.
In other course management’s systems, you have to do a little bit differently but you can still use the same organization. So I make sure that all of what you are going to need is linked to the course outline. All of these things are either in the library or I have loaded down into the content module, I think that is what it called, and, I link to those.
So each week has the instructions and also an agenda. I suggest that you use an agenda, that ways to know what is coming up each week. And, when I am finished, I make any changes and I keep this and you will notice that if we look at 2005, I also toped 438 in the summer, and it looks very similar.
So, I just click and drag and then make the changes in the new documents for the next year.
If you have any questions on that, just replay but it is very, very important that you organized everything because you will never know when your content management system is going to go on the blink.
Have a good week!
