Okay, I’m not going to review the IBM Think Pad Z61t 9442-E7U. So, as you can see, it definitely follows the traits of a Think Pad. One thing I don’t really like about the unit is how finger printy this can be. It’s very susceptible to keeping finger prints on, and difficult to clean.
This was made just before Lenovo, purchased the Think Pad branch from IBM, so it still says IBM Think Pad on. As usual, we have battery light, the power light, and a sleep light, if the unit is sleepy. Open the pack up, the screen is 14.1 inches, 1280 x 800 and it is a HD screen. However, it’s not a bright view. So, you can see, that’s about as high as it’s going to go right there.
With most Think Pads, I do have the Think Light here, which is actually pretty good for using at night. I was impressed with it, to be honest with you. Over here, we have a 1.3 megapixel webcam which is very good built under the screen there. We move over on the left side, we have the fan vent, VGA out, dial-up port, Ethernet jack and the hard drive is below here. The hard drive in this unit is 100 gigabytes, 7,200 RPM.
On the front, there’s a microphone port, WiFi Toggle, infrared, DSD rear, and there is a microphone and headphone there. I did not mention that. Over on this side, we have two USB 2.0 ports, 1394, the PCI port, the DVD-RW Multi Recorder, optical drive, a lock, and one more USB 2.0 port. So down on the front, like most Think Pads, we do have finger front reader. Scanner, I have two gigabytes of memory in this one and it’s Intel Centrino Duo T2500, so it’s not 64 bit and both cores are running at approximately two GHz. So, I have the touch pad and the track pen, which is good to see on a laptop and the normal think vantage button, brings up the think vantage window, and volume control with mute and down and up.
Over here we have the WiFi light, caps locks button, and unlock button. The power light which is Z because this is a Z series. The battery charging light, the power light, and the sleep light again, and as you can see that that says Z61t. If you’re wondering in Windows with 2 gig of RAM in this, it is rated at 3.1. If that means anything to you. And again, this is the IBM Think Pad Z61t 9442-E7U and it is very light weight at 4.2 pounds. Ultra portable, ultra expensive, but ultra worth it. Thanks for watching.
