Hey, what’s up guys it Aaron another lesson for you this one is on the song by Nickleback called “If today was your last day”.
It is a faster strumming song but the chords, if you don’t like B minor chord then this song has one in it but please don’t run away you need to learn a B minor stay with me, just stay with me.
Capo in the first fret were in standard tuning, capo on the first fret. The chords you’re going to use for most of it is just a B minor chord. And a faster strum like I said and it is going to sound like this to the base grip is going to be B minor, B, A for two measures. B minor, B, A for two measures, okay so the strum pattern start with B minor to fast strum pattern but it’s.
Okay, down-up-down-up-down-down-up-up-down-up-down and then a down-up at the end. So down-up-down-up-down-down-up-up-down-up-down-down-up, okay and then you’re going to go to you’re D chord with the same strum pattern down-up-down-up-down. Sorry about that, down-down-up-down-down-up-up-down-up-down-down-up to an A, down-up-down-up-down. You guys have your notes there and then I keep changing this line I’m sorry.
This is the strum pattern I’m going to give it to you one time and you need to do with ever I can get a good on the B minor right so. so down-up-down-up-down-down-up-up-down-up-down-down-up that’s the strum pattern so use that one no matter what else I say the rest to you that’s the right strum pattern.
So you do a B minor for one measure, switch to D for one measure, to an A for two measure, so you do the same strong pattern for the beginning twice. Then you repeat, you repeat basically none stop all the way through the verse and the chorus I’m pretty sure it stays the same the only time I see a little bit of difference in the tabs in the song is, it’s gets to the part where it says “That you finally fall in love, if today was your last day, if today was your last day would you make your mark by mending broken heart”. Okay you just enters and E chord in there use the same strum pattern, okay down-down-up-down-down-up-up-down-up-down-down-up and after the E you’re going to into the D chord but you use that same strum pattern and give the whole song.
When you get to the E chords in the tabs there I believe the E chords are actually for two measures as well. But if you’re strumming along with and E chord you can tell if you listen closely, if it sounds like they haven’t changed the chord yet and they probably had it, so you should be able to pick that up. But for the most part two measure, one measure B minor, one measure D, two measures of A for the verses and the chorus.
Once you get to the—I think it’s a bridge or whatever, where you have the E chord, try two measures of E, one measure of D, one measure of A, back to two measures of E, one measure of D, one measure of A, two measures of E. And then “If today was you’re last day” I think it’s the chorus is E for two measures, B minor for measure, D for a measure.
You know, you guys kind of figure out the measures I think you can figure it out your selves but that’s the same strum pattern in the beginning. So that’s the short but hopefully it’s effective and remembers standard tuning, capo on the first fret.
